<<   Applications in the pre-cast concrete industry have long been a specialisation of Street Crane. Clients in the industry include manufacturers of concrete beams, floors, walls, pipes, tunnels and general segments. Street has considerable experience in crane and hoist schemes for handling and storage of the finished and part finished concrete product as well as handling re-bar. Some typical applications include outdoor single or double girder overhead or portal cranes for stockyards. The street range of portal cranes are available with or without cantilevers which can allow loading of vehicles outside the designated storage area. Indoor cranes for production may be pre-engineered economic solutions or process integrated solutions including skip cranes to carry concrete from the batching plant and special mould stripping cranes. It is important to consider very carefully the speed and duty classifications of cranes for the concrete industry as the requirements are often in excess of cranes for general industry. Recent developments include Swing Prevention Software which allow much faster handling rates and crane automation and is now available at much reduced cost.
