| Street
has 50 years experience of cranes for
railway and rail engineering workshop
applications world-wide. Requirements
vary widely from continuous usage to
light maintenance duty.
The most arduous duties in the railway
industry are heavy duty railhead applications
which demand that a large tonnage be
off-loaded in a short time and, therefore,
fast speeds and very high duty classifications
are required. Production facilities
for locomotives or rolling stock generally
require medium duty cranes but often
with special facilities for precision
lifting and positioning. Maintenance
facilities may require tandem lifting
facilities to lift carriages clear of
bogie units and some cranes require
true vertical lifting with double scrolled
hoist drums.
Traditionally a supplier to the British
Railways network Street has more recently
supplied cranes world-wide through its
distributors for railway installations
in North America, Asia Pacific, Africa
and other international railways. |
